DAY 39
It was a rainy Monday in October...so can we trust that Fall is finally here? Or are we getting 80+ degree weather again next week?
Today was an open ended day that allowed students to work with myself and with each other completing, starting?, or finish reading their book on our first Book Project of the year. Need directions again? Click here.
Students started the day off playing a great game of dodgeball in the multipurpose room since it was throwing down rain at the time.
Upon returning to class the students had one hour to work on their Book Project.
We then took our spelling pretest after morning recess. Here are this week’s words.
Then students were able to work on their book project for one more hour.
Students that were done or who had not brought enough materials to work today in class were able to begin this week’s homework, focus on factoring & orders of operations on www.ixl.com and write down the game plan for the week.
We then covered today’s math lesson. It focused on Order of Operations.
Here are our notes (some notes lost due to smartboard crashing issues)
Here is a quick Brainpop
Here is a fun Flocabulary on Order of Operations
Here is the series of four videos and examples that students can either practice or watch the lesson on Order of Operations
Bill of Rights
We covered a lesson on our Bill of Rights. We have not completed all 10 yet. However you can ask your son/daughter about the first 5:
Freedom of speech, religion, protest, & freedom of the press
Freedom to bear arms
Freedom to not have soldiers/military just take over your house for their own use
Freedom to have the your personal rights protected for unwarranted searches.
Freedom to be charged of a crime if only brought forward to a jury. No “double” jeopardy? Freedom to have your property protected unless the government will pay you fair value.
A quick get ready for the week.
