Technology Tuesday October 9, 2012


Reminder....please use FIREFOX only.  
Click here to insure you have the latest firefox.  
Just click yes or ok if it ask if it is ok to install.  

1.  Goto the Calflora.org website.  
Select zip code and then type in the city of Dublin’s zip code   94568    
Search for plants on the bottom.  
When the list of plants shows up on the bottom pick 1 plant, 1 weed, and 1 tree.  

  • Write down the name of each and a description as well as a quick sketch in your notebook.  
  • Also write down if you have seen it before.

2. Khan Academy -- Make sure to sign into your Google Account FIRST.  
You need to see that your name is showing in the top right hand side of the website.
You need to also have me as your coach.  If you didn’t do that already:

4.  Brainpop Movies (for a grade):
Watch this video first on “imagination”
Sign into Brainpop, watch the video, stop it and take notes, and when you get to the end take the quiz.

Choose "Graded Quiz" -- at the end choose print , put your name on it and hand this to Mrs. Cooper so we can put this into the grade book.

Sign into Brainpop, watch the video, stop it and take notes, and when you get to the end take the quiz.

7.  IXL on division
If you finish early work on your division:
5.NBT.6 Find whole-number quotients of whole numbers with up to four-digit dividends and two-digit divisors, using strategies based on place value, the properties of operations, and/or the relationship between multiplication and division. Illustrate and explain the calculation by using equations, rectangular arrays, and/or area models.
