Toomer's Corner covered in toilet paper. |
First note, keep those kids sleeping, washing hands, full of fluids and eating healthy. Various virus are starting to be passed around the class. Fevers, coughs, and really sore-throats are making their way around C-5. Remember the school asks that your child be fever free for 24 hours prior to returning to school.
Today’s happenings and talking points:
We finished the first of the two stories about the Auburn and Alabama rivalry, traditions, Toomer’s trees and fandom. We began the 2nd story and we are learning more about the fan that killed the 80+ year old trees.
We then did some intensive math training. So intense that we did a double session of math.
Here are our double session notes:
After our first math session, they went off to science where they are learning more about the universe and outer space. Homework tonight: Page 168 and 169
We returned for another math division jam session.
Here are the movies that we watched regarding division.
Here is the 2nd movie that we watched.
After math they went to singing. For the first time this year the class earned a “super” for their exceptional respectfulness and energy during singing class!!
After singing we went over our vocabulary work. Some people are really making some exceptional, dare I say extraordinary, vocabulary poster cards. Vanessa, Stacy, Carli, Trevor, Drew and Jared have really stood out these last two weeks in making some cool and information posters.
We then went over some social studies. We are continuing our work on the Constitution. So we covered types of government, leaders and what exactly do we practice because it is not pure democracy.
Finally at the end of the day we prepped for our Power Speaking presentations and we heard some first hand accounts of people immigrating into the U.S.A.
Please please return those heritage forms ASAP.
