Library time -- we have 10 students who need to return their library contracts. They were given new ones this morning. They are bright yellow, will you please sign and return.
Math in the morning -- we reviewed last night’s homework and I took questions about the test.
After that, I spent 40 minutes going over:
1. How to decompose numbers into smaller factors (e.g. 40 = 2 cubed x 5 or 50 = 5 squared x 2)
2. How to use “the power of one” with factors to reduce fractions and reduce division problems.
(e.g. 500 / 30 = 5 cubed x 2 squared / 3 x 2 x 5 = 5 squared x 2 / 3 = 50/3 = 16 1/3
3. We completed the first 6 problems for tonight’s homework. It should be in their notebook.
Math Unit 3 test......
Took most people a solid 60+ minutes.
Students that finished early worked either on their projects or on their math homework.
Cargo and Wilmott rotations....
**Reminder there is a Theme 1 test tomorrow. They should continue reviewing this study guide and using it to memorize where appropriate. Their practice book, especially for grammar, vocab and some of the reading strategies is a great resource.
