Tuesday
Day 127 of Week 30
Sorry for the long break between posts. With the rollout of the new technology there has been many district meetings and also time spent figuring them out and making the class ready.
On Friday we began utilizing the Chromebooks. We used them a tad bit on Monday and in earnest today. So far it has been great with the students respecting them and staying on task as we try to modernize some of what we are doing.
Today in technology lab the students worked more with learning how to compute %’s and sharpening their focus on what areas to revisit in regards to our math. The students converted all of their math tests into % and then could focus on tests that scored less than 80%.
We then did some work on www.scootpad.com
Finally we took our “make your own conclusion to the story” exercise from last week and we are sharing them as a class. One of the things that excites me about the new technology is being able to share their writing with their peers beyond just with myself.
After technology we focused on our math review as our chapter test is tomorrow. Students really need to practice and review tonight how to convert subtraction problems into addition problems.
We then did some algebra practice for the rest of the week’s homework since some students were getting a head start on it.
Preposition work will be reviewed on Wednesday.
Science with Mrs. Cargo -- plant cells versus animal cells.
Coupe/Shaw -- 4th grade science review
Math/Art w/ Mrs. Cho
Then the end of the day.
Tomorrow night is the informational meeting at 6:30 where a naturalist from Camp Arroyo will come out to show a slide presentation and answer your questions. If you can’t attend, I can send you the slideshow after tomorrow night and I would love to answer your questions.
Kind regards,
Mr. Hubbard
