Happy Thursday!!
With the weather being so beautiful and us being on week 30 or something of test prep, the kids had a challenging day staying focused. We ask a lot from our 10 and 11 years today and some days they just still want to be a kid. So we try our best and we give it an honest effort again tomorrow.
The weird email from me about Classdojo.com? Trying to work out the kinks on this new website. I was told that they send out a report automatically every Friday. It has been hit and miss so far from parents regarding who is receiving what. I put an email into them to find out why some people receive an email and some people don’t.
One week from now we will be at Intel!! We are super excited about the field trip however due to the timing of our class and tour please have your child bring a bag lunch for that day.
Johnny Tremain -- today we had the big reading that covered the Boston Tea Party. Key concepts -- the patriots worked hard not to damage or steal anything. Young boys, not much older than 5th graders, did most of the work that evening so the British would have a hard time prosecuting the guilty parties.
Test preparedness time -- the students were given about 45 minutes to work with myself, independently or with each other on math, language arts and science. Student have all their last two sets of assessments so they can track areas that still need to be rereviewed or researched prior to our May testing.
Library -- due to district librarian training held on Thursdays and spring break, we had a our first library visit in about four weeks.
Science -- the human body systems
Math/Art -- reviewing geometry concepts
Reminder that tomorrow we have our test on reference materials and parts of a book. all of the terms can be found here:
Kind regards,

If you want to build a ship, don't drum up people together to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea.
