Monday #146 2011 2012

Day 146 of Week 32
Monday, April 23, 2012

First “real” day of scholastic endeavours and prepping for the May tests since April 5th due to the ½ day on April 6th, a full week of Spring Break and Outdoor Education week.

Spelling -- My Side of the Mountain

CNN Students -- questions and discussions about the elections in France, how our tax money is spent, Earth Day and the need for qualified energetic cyber terrorist fighters.

Persuasive Writing -- we began working on writing a persuasive writing about persuading future administrators and teachers to keep Outdoor Education Week.

Lewis and Clark   -- we spent some time going over our Lewis and Clark unit.  I hope this year’s class is as fired up about this unit as I am.

Math -- those with 90% averages are working independently on www.ixl.com or www.pearsonsuccessnet.com ;  Tomorrow they will recieve their newest Curriculum Associates feedback and can focus and fine tune the areas they missed on the 4th assessment.

Remember the End of Year planning meeting is Tuesday, 24 room C-7 @ 2:05.

Don’t forget this Wednesday night:
You and your family are cordially invited to attend the Awards Ceremony for all First Place Student Art Winners at the Regal Hacienda Cinemas on Wednesday night, April 25th at 7:00 PM (admission is free & no tickets are required). The donated art piece will be professionally framed and on display at the ceremony. An award plaque will be presented to each winner and parents may take a picture of the artist(s) with the Honorable Mayor Tim Sbranti and Dublin Schools Superintendent, Dr. Stephen Hanke.
