We reviewed and discussed grammar today....descriptive verbs, action verbs and finally direct objects.

We also went over this week’s reading strategies of identifying characters, setting, key points in a story, the “challenge” or “problem” in a typical story and how the author builds a resolution.

After the end of language arts, we played some Grammar Ninja!!

We discussed quickly the narrative writing that we will be working on tomorrow and next week.  Tonight’s homework is basically a free write about a time they “gave it all they got.”  We will work on cleaning it up over the next week.

We had an assembly that featured Justin Bieber?? The play put on by Los Positas Thespians was different and humorous.

math -- we reviewed last night’s homework and discussed tomorrow’s test.
Students can study and be prepared by doing the following:
1. complete tonight’s homework
2.  go to the link below and review a sample test to get a feel for tomorrow’s test

3. I reassigned everyone the on-line version of the chapter 4 test.  When a student completes the test, any skill that they missed on the test will create mini video/slide lesson teaching that particular skill again.  www.pearsonsuccessnet.com

Students made great progress on their social studies test.  Due to the assembly and band students coming and going, they only put 45 minutes into it.  So they will finish it first thing tomorrow morning.  So don’t forget those social studies notebooks.
Kind regards,
Mr. Hubbard
