March 13, 2014, Week 30 and Day 126

I was not in class today.  I was on site doing professional development with my 5th grade peers.   From conversations with the substitute teacher and her lengthy detailed write-up it sounded/read like some students struggled with their behavior choices.

They did participate in a reading comprehension exercise as a class and also learned about the Intolerable Acts during the colonial times.

They also had an opportunity to review pi, work out some circle circumference and area of a circle in preparations for tomorrow’s Pi Day!!   They also used www.brainpop.com to watch and learn about Pi and circle calculations.

We of course worked on division of fractions.   Students also performed some Scootpad grammar and language arts practice.  We visited the library.  Finally students had time to complete their “birthday party” budget work.

Kind Regards,
