Most excellent pi / pie day!! We had a yummy assortment of pies. Thank you for everyone that donated a pie.
We spent a little bit of time this morning enjoying Pi the number.
We watched these:

We then had Michael S. recite the first 34 decimal places for pie.

Language Arts:
A mini lesson on propaganda
We went beyond the general lessons discussed during our discussions on the Boston Massacre.
Types of propaganda:
1. Bandwagon - To convince the audience to do or believe something because everyone else is doing it.
2. Loaded Words - Using words with strong emotional associations.
3. Plain Folks - Suggesting something is practical and a good value for ordinary people.
4. Glittering Generality - Using words so strongly positive in emotional content that just hearing them makes you feel good. The words express a positive meaning without actually giving a guarantee.
5. Transfer - Transferring good looks, feelings, or ideas to the person who the propaganda is meant to influence. Suggests the positive qualities to be associated with the product and the user.
6. Testimonial - Using a famous person to endorse the product.
7. Repetition - Using the product name or a keyword or phrase over and over.
8. Name Calling- Using harsh/kind words to make a point effective.
9. Stereotyping/bias-Eastwood likes men
10. Flag waving- an emotional appeal or display intended to arouse patriotic or nationalistic feeling.

Get Ready for the rest of the Week.
Assembly at the end the day. We watched a mini symphony perform various instruments.
Tuesday, March 15th
We want to submit our photo art work to the Mayor of Dublin, Tim Sbranti.
Our photo art was so expansive that we struggled in meeting our DPIE art deadline. However our artist/project manager (Taylor Brakeman) would like our class to submit the final piece (it is amazing!) to Mayor Sbranti at the 3/15 City Council meeting.
The meeting begins at 7:00 and we are the first item on the agenda. So your son/daughter can help us present our artwork to the Mayor and then we can return home.
