This is week 12 of the school year....wow, we are going quick.

I sent in the earlier email the link to reserve your student led conference..

Today -- technology lab.
We did our monthly STAR reading assessment.  I will send home the report this week.
The students did 20 minutes of typing practice.
The students were able to watch Brainpops as I tried to get them to “vote” for our monthly attributes.  However the Google Documents and the Computer Gods were not kind to me today :(

Review comprehension from last week.
We then discussed the conclusion of theme 2’s “Give It All You Got!” section.  The students are going to begin working on their newest theme project.  They need to remember to challenge themselves, learn something new about the subject(s) they choose and how to work well with others.  Students do need to choose a new partner this time and they are engaged to try a new presentation media than they did last time.   Their proposals are due no later than Thursday.

Math:
More factoring practice...we did easily over 8 homework and classroom examples regarding factoring today.
Here are the attached notes, if your son/daughter are confused or have forgotten the magic we created today:

Social Studies:
Here are the similar notes regarding what we discussed today:

Some students also had a chance to work with their parental volunteers at our election cafe.  So students had an opportunity to see our republic/democracy at work.

Feel free to talk with your son/daughter about how the voting process works and/or how you prepare to vote.   We are extremely luck in America to have an opportunity to voice our opinions and to vote, I hope you can share that joy of democracy with your son/daughter (just try not to think about the 4 or 5 robo-calls that you received yesterday).

P.E.

Prepare for the week and plan out our week.
Kind regards,

Mr. Hubbard
