It was a beautiful October day full of glorious sunshine.
Today’s events:
Spelling pretest
We then did some reflection on this past weekend. Students were able to share what they did over the weekend.
Mini -- Dear Time
Science --- discussion on scientific method. We have been working on what goes into thinking like a scientist, what goes into do a “real” science based research project and why you can only have ONE variable.
Today we watched and took a brainpop quiz all about the scientific method.
Dare Mighty Things and the Curiosity Mission...we studied the latest Mars rover, watched how it landed on Mars, what is it doing on Mars and answered questions about the rover.
Math:
Tomorrow is our test on multiplication. Students are expected to use the generic area model as part of the assessment process.
Tonight’s homework is all about multiplication.
Prepare for the remainder of the week.
Students were given 30+ minutes to write the entire week’s homework into their day planner and begin working on their homework.

Page 78 1-22 All write original problem and then divide -- due Wednesday
Page 136 9-36 all write original problem and multiply by moving decimal due Thursday
If students log into Khan they can earn extra credit by watching movies and completing practice examples!!
Page 154 1-31 all original problem. divide by moving decimal due Friday
Language Arts and Social Studies:
Tissue, Organs, and Systems due on Thursday -- complete sentences and refer back to the article

Two evenings with non-fiction reading:
We are putting together an information assessment for practice on Friday. STudents will read two different pieces of written information, watch an informational video and then create an analysis piece on Friday. They must make a minimum of three direct references to what they read & watched.
Spelling Test is on Friday. We are on test #4.
Free-Write due on Friday:
“My teacher is on steroids…..”
Read 20 minutes every night.
Tomorrow bring in the wrapper or box of your favorite food -- let’s see what exactly are you eating.
