Day 64 Wet crazy Wednesday...

The rain and weather changes can really bring out the squirelies in kids.  Today was exhibit A as the kids were extremely playful and full of unbridled energy.

We started the day with our theme test.   Many of the students seemed to take their time and did not rush through this assignment.

A special PE -- our kids have missed three PE days this year due to Monday holidays so today was our first make-up.  They played some extra challenging dodge ball so that allowed them an opportunity to burn off some steam.

Math:
fractions and decimals hanging out on a number line.
We reviewed how is this possible and how you can convert the numbers on the number to meet your needs.  Click here to see our notes.

We reviewed the reading and writing exercise about the 11 year old who was asked to watch his younger brother but he decided he needed to jump rope with his friends.  There were some great conversations about being responsible and empathy for that younger brother.

The Battle of Trenton -- We covered how the winter of 1776 was the colonies & Patriots lowest point in the war.  Soldiers could just leave on 1/1/1777, people were questioning George Washington’s leadership, and our soldiers were literally freezing and starving to death.
George Washington was a desperate man so he attacked and brought the pain on Christmas killing and capturing about a thousand Hessians soldiers (who were fighting for the British).  It was the victory that restored order within the troops, France believed we had a chance and people stopped questioning George Washington as a leader.

Seaman book --- well, the Corp is almost back to St. Louis.  The book is almost done.  As the group sails down the Missouri they are receiving a hero’s welcome.  Tomorrow we complete the book and the documentary.  Soon we will get working on our projects.

Kind regards,
Mr. Hubbard
